Biden goes off message on the economy

Obama says the private sector is doing just fine... Joe Biden seems to disagree:

This is not a depression, or even a recession, at least not based on the standard way of measuring such things... the problem is, it sure feels like a recession to most people because the jobs still haven't come back.  Maybe we aren't supposed to call it a recession, but we sure as hell can't call it a recovery when there are no jobs.  So then, what do we call it?

Ugh... I'm still sick...

Sorry for the light posting here, I'm still recovering from a nasty case of the flu...  the worst of it seems to be over, but I just can't seem to shake this awful cough.  As long as my mouth has a continuous supply of menthol cough drops, I can keep myself from getting stuck in an endless loop of coughing and coughing and coughing... but even with the cough drops some nasty coughing fits still manage to slip through.  For those all I can do is blame Bush.

In other news, did you ever notice Japanese people make a lot of really weird movies:

Hmmmm... I think maybe I'll skip that one.

RIP Ray Bradbury

Ray Bradbury passed away yesterday.  He was probably best know for writing The Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451, but he wrote lots and lots of great stuff.  I was a huge fan of The Ray Bradbury Theater, which adapted many of his short stories...  the episode featuring Jeff Goldblum was always one of my favorites:

Scott Walker wins, the left goes nuts

Scott Walker won the recall election in Wisconsin, and by a pretty wide margin.  Naturally, some of the more unhinged leftists out there responded by openly calling for Walker to be assassinated.  Because, unless you have the right to kill everyone who disagrees with you, then democracy has died... or something.
